My Chemical Romance have canceled their upcoming concerts in Russia and Ukraine over the ongoing conflict in the region.
“With deep regret, My Chemical Romance is cancelling our Ukraine and Russia shows in June, 2022,” the band announced on Twitter. “We hope to be able to play for the fans there soon.”
The rock band was scheduled to perform in Saint Petersburg on June 16, at Moscow’s Park Live Festival on June 17, and at Kyiv’s U Park Festival on June 19.
My Chemical Romance was set to headline the U Park Festival along with Slipknot, Gorillaz, and Deftones.
Except for Russia and Ukraine, the rest of MCR’s European tour will go on as scheduled.
They are the latest band to join a growing list of artists including Louis Tomlinson, Green Day, Yungblud and Franz Ferdinand, who are canceling shows in the two countries since Russia invaded on February 24.
